The Level 1 CTAP Technology Proficiency Academy is for teachers who need to learn the basics of the computer, or have had limited exposure to the basic computer programs, such as those found in Microsoft Office, Internet, E-mail, and Information Literacy.
The academy is a set of easy-paced, no pressure classes, over 5 days, where the participants learn programs that they could use with their students, or help them be more productive in their classroom.
The Level 2 CTAP Technology Integration Academy is designed for classroom teachers who are ready to move beyond personal technology proficiency. Teachers create a standards-based unit plan that incorporates technology to:
• enhance teaching
• expand research opportunities
• allow students to demonstrate learning in a meaningful way
• assess and analyze student progress
The Academy provides teachers with the pedagogical background and technology skills to design effective lessons making the best possible use of the digital and electronic resources available to them and to their students.
The iTELL Academy supports the effective use of technology tools to implement research-based strategies in support of English Learners. In this 4-day workshop that includes online follow-up, participants will learn how to improve student engagement and support an adopted curriculum using free online resources, graphic organizational tools, digital storytelling and interactive technologies.
